Spoilt Beauty Shoot

My latest beauty shoot, Spoilt Beauty, describes how beauty is everywhere and not necessarily aesthetic. For me beauty is a feeling which we are unable to describe, a mystery, it's nice to have this secret in life, we don't know everything as much as we try! :)

The first 'Unseen Beauty', is based on the creative beauty inside all of us, the inner child that likes to play coming out but is trapped/unseen when adulthood comes and sadly the child might die.  The inspiration I took were from Miro's 'Woman Encircled by the flight of a Bird' for the eyes and lips (below), and the tears were based around his 'May 1968' painting.

Woman Encircled by the flight of a Bird

May 1968

I love Miro's work and surrealism, the 'Woman Encircled' painting reminds me of play and when we're younger it doesn't matter where we draw things , there are no rules, if an eye is here and lips are here and a bird here it's OK!  The 'May 1968' is based on the student protests that were happening in 1968, my own protest is that of the inner child wanting to let out creative beauty.

The second, 'Beauty Is..' is inspired by one of my favorite photographers, Guy Boardin.  The shot represents that beauty is not just seen, the eye on the lips and the text on the nails, 'BEAUTY IS' represent seeing beauty in words

The third, 'Trapped Beauty' shows the beauty inside us not being allowed to be released for various reasons and we become frustrated and imprisoned within ourselves, the mask makeup was inspired by Hannibal Lecter

A V big thank you to model Nadia Cohen and MUA JiHye Sim, amazing work

London Fashion Week AW11/12

I recently went to London Fashion Week, it was an amazing experience and incredibly addictive, the adrenalin rush was unbelievable! Once it all finished it was very strange being back, definitely need to go back to the fashion bubble, not only London but New York, Milan and Paris or where-ever there are fashion weeks!

A very big thank you to 1883magazine,  Lovita Graham @ www.thefashionmotto.com and photographers  Olu Ogunshakin, Robert Pugsley and Andreas Pettersson was really great working with you :)

Photoshoot - Lost

This shot is taken from my latest Editorial, Lost. The shoot covers over a day the lives of two people who are lost in many ways, find each other but ultimately end up were they were, still lost, it's not another person that will fill this void or solve our problems, it is down to our own inner strength

Photoshoot - "I Hate Mondays"

Here's a shot taken from a fashion photoshoot we recently completed, "I Hate Mondays". It's based on the dread of the waking up early through trying to escape, to the acceptance, submission and frustration of having to go to a 9-5 job.. The full shoot can be found at http://www.pearlyphotography.com/files/pages/Editorial.html
